The interior of African Hills Safari Lodge & Spa manages to capture the romance and essence of ‘Africa meets Antique Dutch’ with décor pieces dating back to the 1800’s. Slipper baths, wash stands, luggage chests, antique Oregon cupboards and tables are subtly placed within the luxury four-star surrounding, to emphasize the captivating history of the Magaliesburg area. Of the 48 suites, some have thatched roofs and wooden patios, while the family units are tin-roofed with rough plaster and a distinct farmhouse look. The Chalets and Suites all have unique configurations and cater for individuals, groups and families.

The eight new units consist of two Garden Cottages and twelve Garden Suites. All units overlook a sparkling pool and the Magalies mountain range in the distant. This brings the total of conference or leisure guests which African Hills Safari Lodge & Spa can accommodate at any given time to 48 singles or 96 guests, sharing. The dark grey exteriors blend effortlessly with the natural surrounds while spacious patios (stoeps) provide a respite from the warm day after a game drive.

Plumari Private Game Reserve is set within a pristine wilderness area of over 5000 hectares with natural African bushveld and an abundance of flora, fauna, birdlife and wildlife. Two game drives, each approximately 2 – 2,5 hours in duration, are scheduled daily. An elephant ‘touch and feed’ experience will make your conference unforgettable.
The main lodge, which is in fact the old Bodenstein family farmhouse, overlooks the Elephant Dam and invites guests to take a step back in time while admiring South African décor pieces dating back to the 1800’s. Slipper baths, a coal stove, wash stands, luggage chests, antique Oregon cupboards and tables are subtly placed within the four-star surrounding, to emphasize the captivating history of the Magaliesberg area.
African Hills Safari Lodge has one of the largest private collections of ox wagons, carts and other animal drawn vehicles from the period 1800 to 1900. A variety of items from the Boer War and San Bushmen rock carvings tell the history of the area, which is also known for the nearby Battle of Nooitgedacht. Examples are available in the museum, which is a popular venue for teambuilding or pre-dinner drinks. The Day Visitors Center is abundant with African symbology, rich earthy colours and unique African décor focal points. All conference venues are based at the Day Centre and afford great views of the Magalies mountain range and reserve.

• Treatments are carefully planned to accommodate the needs  of each guest, please allow enough time for your experience and arrive 15 Min prior to your appointment.
• Late appointments will be completed in the allocated time  and the fee will remain unchanged.
• Please be sure to inform your therapist if you have any  allergies /injuries that may affect your chosen treatments or if  you are pregnant.
• A 50% deposit is required to secure your treatment reservation.  Please see your invoice for details. Please note that African Hills  Safari Lodge & Spa is a cashless property. Payment via EFT,  Debit card and all major credit cards are accepted. 
• Please inform the spa at least 48 Hrs. in advance should you  wish to change or cancel your booking. No shows & late  cancellations will result in a 100% cancellation charge.
• We encourage you to leave any valuables at home to ensure  safe keeping.
• Please switch off your mobile phone while in the spa area.
• We offer a double treatment suite where you can enjoy  treatments with your partner or friend. Please be sure to let the  spa know should you wish to book this in advance. Subject to  avaiability.
• Proper swimwear must be worn at all times while enjoying our  Spa facilities. We will provide you with a locker, gown, slippers &  towels.

Located in the heart of the lodge, the spa complex boasts 4 treatment rooms with a double outdoor shower and a separate men’s and ladies change rooms. The entire spa opens up on outdoor relaxation areas and private gardens.

GAME DRIVES

The 4* African Hills Safari Lodge & Spa, just over an hour fromJohannesburg and Pretoria, offers so much more than just a wildlife experience. Aside from being surrounded by tranquil bushveld teeming with wildlife and rich in history, African Hills understands your dreams and wishes and will go the extra mile to ensure that all of these come true. African Hills Safari Lodge & Spa offers you the use of the Antique Style Chapel or, for the more adventurous bridal couple the use of our open-air forest venue. The wedding reception will take place at our Day Visitor Centre in either the Akira Function Venue or in the Azima Restaurant overlooking the majestic Mag aliesberg Mountain Range. The Lodge also offers accommodation for 96 guests in our chalets overlooking the Elephant Dam. Leisure activities for the bridal couple or their guests include African Hills Spa, Game Drives, Elephant Experiences and Hikes which may be booked at reception or with the wedding co-ordinator.

You are welcome to bring your own wines and/or champagnes, should it not be available on the African Hills Safari Lodge’s wine list, however this will be subject to a corkage fee of R95 per bottle. Drinks to be supplied by the wedding party must be agreed upon with the Wedding Co-ordinator in advance. No other beverages may be brought on site
• PA System – the PA System and microphone for the ceremony and reception venue are to be supplied and set up by the DJ
• Screen and data projector are available at a rate of R850 for the two. TV, DVD and overhead projector are available at an additional cost
• Overlays/runners and tiebacks may be hired in on your behalf from independent suppliers at a 25% handling fee.
• Candles – no candles are allowed to be placed directly on the table linen
